The urban planning of Shanghai Jiading New Town will be the
principal case for the Forum. The Jiading New Town is one of the three major
urban development projects under Shanghai’s “11th Five Year Plan”,
with an aggregate investment over 100 Billion RMB ($14.7 Billion). The Jiading
New Town has a planned area of 120 square kilometers (46.33 square miles), and

monitoring system, an intelligent transportation system, and an integrated wireless network platform
to support public safety, city management, emergency response, public service,
business and travel, living and education, and other information applications,
the Jiang New Town is visioning itself to be China’s first “wireless city” with
a fully integrated information technology infrastructure.
At present, Shanghai Jiading New Town has started the second
